Connex 500 - Flexible & Rigid Materials

The Connex500 3d printing system at IPF can produce prototypes that possess properties which mimic traditional elastomeric materials including EPDM and NBR. This means you can evaluate a design that incorporates soft flexible areas and hard, inflexible areas.  Furthermore, all of this can be printed at the same time, in the same build proces, saving you time and money.

In this example, 3d printed on the Objet Connex500, several rubber-like materials with different shore values were printed at the same time to create a model with both hard and soft areas.  In addition to this, different materials can be used to produce text or other fine details.

Connex500 at a Glance.

  • 30 digital materials including variable shore hardness materials from 27 A shore up to 95 A shore, enabling flexible and rigid materials in the same prototype
  • High resolution mode, 600 DPI in X & Y – enables models with fine features
  • Smooth surface finish -- Eliminates the stair effect
  • Thin walls down to 0.6mm (0.024”)
  • Layer thickness ultra thin 16microns or high speed 30microns
  • Fine detail in all axis
  • Large build size 500 x 400 x 200mm
In addition to the Connex500, our other 3d printing systems include the Objet Eden 350V and the EnvisionTec Perfactory, an ultra high definition machine.  This range of rapid prototyping solutions means that we can offer the appropriate technology for your modelling needs.
