3D Printing Workshop Operative

We’re hiring! An exciting new opportunity to develop a career within a dedicated manufacturing team has opened at a leading UK 3D printing bureau. IPF Ltd specialises in plastic machining, fabrication and 3D printing for a variety of industries including special equipment manufacturers, medical and scientific, industrial manufacturing, product development and motorsport. Parts range from 1 off prototypes to large, repeated batches.

The successful applicant will be working with 3D printed parts, preparing them for supply to clients. The role involves using hand tools and other equipment to remove 3D printed support material as well as finishing, spray painting and polishing.

You will also tend to the 3D Printing machines for maintenance and job management.

Good presentation skills will be required when packing the parts for dispatch. A keen eye for detail, dexterity, multi-project management experience and communication skills are essential.

Candidates looking to apply to this role should take into consideration that it requires long periods of standing whilst working with production parts for most of your working day.

No experience necessary, training for all aspects of position would be supplied, however, applicants must be able to demonstrate;

  • Good manual dexterity, who would apply delicacy when preparing and packing our clients’ parts
  • Have good attention to detail and good presentation skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as well as working alone
  • Able to work for long periods standing

This opportunity would suit a person with manufacturing, order management, craft or artistic-based skills developed from previous work, experience, or hobbies.

Working hours generally from 9am to 5pm, although some flexibility will be allowed and sometimes required.

Duties will include:

  • Component post-processing
  • Part finishing – papering, painting, polishing
  • Packing with care and consideration
  • Production management
  • Machine maintenance
  • Workshop maintenance
  • Associated department task

The role will suit a driven individual with an eye for detail and excellent communication skills.

Whilst there is a great capacity for training and learning within this entry-level role, manufacturing and 3D printing experience is a great advantage as well as project management and ‘job-shop’ experience.

The role is based on-site in Nazeing, Essex (10 minutes north of M25 J26), and will be contracted for 35 hours per week with an additional overtime rate. A part-time role would be considered.

Salary will be based on skills and experience with 20 days holiday each year plus 8 days paid bank holidays based on full-time hours.
